What is a tonic?
A tonic can be described as "a medicine that invigorates or strengthens".
Ayurveda suggests tonics for different situations, like:
- after giving birth
- after recovering from an illness
- to support reproductive/sexual health
- to balance the nervous system and support healthy sleep
- after a deep cleanse
Tonics often have a very pleasant taste and are easy to make. During this class we will make our own tonics and enjoy them! Some tonics contain Ayurvedic herbs and we will discuss their properties and uses.
We will learn why and how tonics work and will explore the meaning of Ojas, that which is rebuild by tonics. Ojas is a subtle substance in our body that is closely connected to the strength of our immune system and our overall wellbeing.
You will receive all the recipes so you can share them with your friends and family.
